Competition Terms and Conditions

Big Battery Hunt A-Z Poster Competition

1. The competition is open to all schools in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, that have registered for the ‘Big Battery Hunt’ programme.

2. No purchase necessary.

3. An entry is defined as at least one submission of a completed Big Battery Hunt A-Z Poster Competiton Entry Form.

4. A total of two winners will be selected. One winner will be selected from the under age 11 category, and one winner will be selected from the age 11 plus category.

5. To be eligible to win, the entrant’s school must be registered for the ‘The Big Battery Hunt’ programme.

6. The deadline to submit entries is Wednesday 21st May 2025

7. The Promoter reserves the right to revise this date and extend the period for accepting entries for the prize.

8. Only completed entries will be eligible. Any entries received with incomplete sections of the entry form will not be eligible.

9. The prize for the under 11 category includes

  • An A2 printed poster of the winning design.
  • A pack of A4 printed posters of the winning design.
  • A tablet worth up to £200
  • A selection of Duracell goodies such a stationary, bags and toys. (Exact items may differ)

10. The Prize for the 11 plus category includes

  • An A2 printed poster of the winning design.
  • A pack of A4 printed posters of the winning design.
  • A tablet worth up to £200
  • A selection of Duracell goodies such a stationary, bags and toys. (Exact items may differ)

11. Only the winners will be notified by email and/or telephone by 18:00 on Friday 30th May 2025. Winners must accept their prize within 7 days of being notified.

12. No alternative prize is available, and the prize is non-transferable and non-negotiable.

13. All prizes will be awarded on the condition that winning schools agree to take part in Duracell, and We Are Futures publicity requests as appropriate. If this condition is not met by the winning school and student(s), the prize will be awarded to another entrant who does agree to this condition. Personal details of the winning student/school details will not be passed to anyone other than the Promoter.

14. All entries received will be automatically counted toward eligibility for the school to enter the Grand Prize Entry Draw. If a school enters two or more Big Battery Hunt competitions in 2025, they will automatically be entered into the Grand Prize Draw.

15. The Promoter reserves the right in his/her reasonable discretion: a. to disqualify any competitor whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the rules (eg a misrepresentation of pupil ages) or the intention of the promotion and to declare as void any or all their claims or entries based on such conduct. b. to declare as void any claims or entries resulting from any printing, production, and/or distribution errors (including but not limited to any error(s) on this website, and/or other printed materials) or where there has been error(s) in any aspect of the preparation for or conduct of the promotion materially affecting the result of the promotion or the number of claimants or the value of claims. c. to add to or waive any rules and prizes on reasonable notice. d. and/or to cancel the promotion or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond reasonable control.

16. Incorrect, incomplete, or illegal entries will not be accepted. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for lost, undelivered, delayed, damaged, or mislaid entries.

17. Entries submitted cannot be returned.

18. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants and disqualify any entry that is not in accordance with the rules.

Battery Recycling Pioneer Stories Competition Terms and Conditions

1. The competition is open to all children in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland who attend a school that has registered for the ‘Big Battery Hunt’ programme, except for relatives of We Are Futures, Duracell, and WasteCare.

2. No purchase necessary.

3. An entry is defined as at least one story in the form of a video, photo taken at their local recycling point, or copy being submitted to the Big Battery Hunt Website stories page.

4. Winners will be selected at random at a time and date chosen by the promotor.

5. The Promoter reserves the right to revise any dates and extend the period for accepting entries for the competition.

6. To be eligible for this competition, the student must attend a school that has registered for the ‘The Big Battery Hunt’ programme and have the full permission of a teacher, parent, or guardian.

7. For an entry to be eligible, it must meet the competition entry requirements.

8. Only the winners will be notified by email and/or telephone. Winners must accept their prize within 7 days of being notified.

9. All entries submitted cannot be returned and are the property of Duracell and We Are Futures. Copyright and all other intellectual property rights and interests will be and are hereby assigned to Duracell and We Are Futures. The entry may be used for, amongst other things, post-event publicity (including reproduction of quotes) or for internal purposes, including newsletters and presentations by the Promoter and Duracell.

10. Each winner will receive a prize chosen by the promoter and pre-determined ahead of being assigned.

11. The individual prize for the winning student will be dispatched to the winning school within 4 weeks of the prize being accepted.

Big Battery Hunt Battery Count Submissions Terms and Conditions

1. The competition is open to all schools in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, that have registered for the ‘Big Battery Hunt’ programme.

2. No purchase necessary.

3. An entry is defined as at least one submission of the total collected batteries per school, divided by the number of students participating at the school. Schools must submit their total battery collection count with more than one student participating and provide the total number of students contributing to the overall schools total battery collection.

4. Winners will be selected at random at a time and date chosen by the promotor.

5. The Promoter reserves the right to revise any dates and extend the period for accepting entries for the competition.

6. To be eligible for these prizes, the school must be registered for the ‘The Big Battery Hunt’ programme.

7. The deadline to submit the number of batteries recycled is Friday 19th December 2025

8. For an entry to be eligible it must meet the prize entry requirements.

9. Proof of the battery count and participating pupil numbers must be provided on request, and be seen as a true representation of the battery count entry to be eligible for a prize.
