Since signing up in September, our class of just 30 pupils – with a little help from their families – has been quietly powering up our battery collection mission. We’ve kept things simple and “in-class,” yet we’ve already gathered an incredible 806 batteries… and that number is sure to jump after Christmas!

We originally set a target of 1,000 batteries for the whole academic year, but it looks like we underestimated our little eco-heroes. Even without taking part in all the extras on the website (there’s only so much time in a school day when you’re busy learning maths and literacy!), the children are absolutely loving the challenge.

So, we might not be competition winners – unless the bunny happens to hop our way – but we’re definitely proud of the spark our pupils have created.
